About Me

I am a psychotherapist based in the Barrack’s Row/Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC, providing individual counseling and coaching for adults. I work with clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and navigating life transitions. In addition to therapy, I offer executive and career coaching for managers and leaders looking to enhance performance, refine leadership skills, and achieve goals with a dedicated thought partner.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic theory and incorporates systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and positive psychology. Above all, I believe in a client-driven process — meeting you where you are and working with what you are ready to explore.

In my practice, I am passionate about helping clients navigate life’s complexities. Whether it’s managing anxiety, coping with grief, or confronting life changes, I find deep fulfillment in being present with individuals during their most difficult moments, offering support and helping them feel less alone.

My approach focuses on seeing clients holistically — acknowledging both their challenges and strengths — and guiding them toward self-compassion and acceptance. Together, we can cast light on the darker places that often fuel overwhelming feelings. Through this exploration, clients can grow and expand into their most authentic selves.

I also specialize in working with leaders and managers who want to lead with empathy and human connection. Drawing on my background in leadership, I help clients bring more compassion into their management style, fostering vulnerability and meaningful relationships within their teams. I believe that workplaces thrive when leaders manage with care and understanding for the people they lead.

Whether you’re in the midst of a crisis or simply seeking clarity, my goal is to be a compassionate and engaged partner in your journey toward growth. Together, we can explore how past relationships have shaped your identity and work to develop a clearer, more grounded sense of self. I create a warm and supportive space where clients can confront self-doubt, develop healthier coping strategies, and deepen their understanding of themselves.

Experience and Training

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent my first career working as a manager and leader in various settings, from small businesses to an international corporation. I found this work to be fulfilling and rewarding. However, I realized what I loved most was my connection to the individuals I worked with, providing them support and helping them grow. I realized that I wanted to make that support and connection the primary focus of the work that I do. As I explored this career transition, I spent a year volunteering for the National Suicide Lifeline (now 988 Lifeline) and made the decision to become a psychotherapist.

Most recently, I provided confidential counseling and support services within a dynamic, fast-paced federal government organization. I helped employees navigate personal and professional challenges through individual counseling, crisis intervention, and team workshops aimed at improving team dynamics from a human behavior perspective. I also provided executive coaching and support to leaders, helping them troubleshoot problems and implement change. I hold a BA from American University and a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland. As a lifelong learner, I regularly pursue ongoing training relevant to my practice, participate in peer supervision, and maintain memberships in professional organizations.
