About Me
I am a psychotherapist based in the Barracks Row/Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC, providing individual counseling and coaching for adults. I work with clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and major life transitions. In addition to therapy, I offer executive and career coaching for managers and leaders who want to enhance performance, strengthen leadership skills, and achieve goals with a dedicated thought partner.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic theory and also incorporates systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and positive psychology. Above all, I believe in a client driven process, meeting you where you are and working with what you are ready to explore.
In my work, I am passionate about helping clients navigate life’s complexities. Whether someone is managing anxiety, coping with grief, or facing a difficult transition, I find deep meaning in being present with people during challenging moments, offering support and helping them feel less alone.
I approach clients holistically, recognizing both their struggles and their strengths. Together we explore the patterns, relationships, and experiences that shape your inner world. Through this process, clients often develop greater self compassion, deeper insight, and a stronger sense of authenticity in how they move through their lives.
I also specialize in working with leaders and managers who want to lead with empathy and human connection. Drawing on my background in leadership, I help clients bring more compassion into their management style, fostering vulnerability, trust, and meaningful relationships within their teams. I believe workplaces function best when leaders lead with care and understanding.
Whether you are in the midst of a crisis or simply seeking greater clarity, my goal is to be a compassionate and engaged partner in your growth. Together we can explore how past relationships and experiences have shaped your identity while developing a clearer and more grounded sense of self. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where clients can confront self doubt, strengthen coping strategies, and deepen their understanding of themselves.
Experience and Training
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent my first career working as a manager and leader in a variety of settings, from small businesses to an international corporation. While I found this work meaningful, I realized that the part I valued most was supporting the people around me and helping them grow. This realization ultimately led me to pursue psychotherapy as a profession.
During this transition, I volunteered for a year with the National Suicide Lifeline (now the 988 Lifeline), an experience that further solidified my decision to enter the field.
Most recently, I provided confidential counseling and support services within a fast paced federal government organization. In this role, I helped employees navigate personal and professional challenges through individual counseling, crisis intervention, and workshops focused on improving team dynamics and workplace relationships. I also provided executive coaching to leaders, helping them navigate complex organizational challenges and lead more effectively.
I hold a BA from American University and a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland. As a lifelong learner, I regularly pursue ongoing training relevant to my practice, participate in peer consultation, and maintain memberships in professional organizations.
